About Dr. Samii

Dr. Nadia Samii, OD, is a board-certified optometrist and owner of Your Two Eyes Optometry in Berkeley, California. She is very skilled at resolving glasses challenges, from eye strain to headaches to resolving uncomfortable prescriptions and eyewear. Dr. Samii is known for her ability to fit monovision and multifocal contact lenses, spending the time necessary to make sure the fittings are successful for her patients.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in nutrition from the University of California, Davis, Dr. Samii went on to the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, graduating in 2010. Before becoming a doctor, she spent time teaching mathematics in public schools in Sacramento. Dr. Samii continued teaching, which is one of her passions, after she began her optometry career, instructing optometry students at her alma mater from 2010-2017 in between seeing patients.

Though the decision to leave teaching and focus on her practice was not an easy one, Dr. Samii is excited to be serving her East Bay community at Your Two Eyes Optometry, which is located in the North Berkeley neighborhood where she resides. Many of the skills Dr. Samii honed as a teacher of both schoolchildren and optometry students now help her better serve patients of all ages at Your Two Eyes Optometry. She is dedicated to keeping her patients informed, aware, and involved in their eye health.

Dr. Samii is passionate about providing marginalized and underserved communities access to quality eye and vision care, including locally in the East Bay. She also treasures the opportunity she had to join a mission to Ratchaburi Province, Thailand, where she performed eye exams and dispensed glasses to those in need.

When not practicing optometry, Dr. Samii loves spending time with her two young children, spouse, and large vibrant extended family, exploring the eclectic selection of restaurants in her neighborhood, which is referred to as the Gourmet Ghetto. Dr. Samii and her husband joke that it’s impossible to burn calories going for a walk in the neighborhood because every walk ends at a restaurant. Dr. Samii is also very supportive of the arts, donating both her time and money to support the local arts and performance community.
